Actuarial Senior Consultant

The Role

Consultants in this role will work as a member of several project teams supporting clients on a wide variety of engagements covering topics such as financial modeling, financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory issues, litigation, pricing, and product development. Our clients demand leading edge products and expertise, and as a consultant with our firm, you can expect to gain tremendous exposure to all facets of insurance operations. This position comes with significant upwards potential for a successful and motivated candidate.

As an Actuarial Consultant you will work as part of a team on a wide variety of complex projects. You will 

•    deliver superior project work that meet or exceed client expectations
•    monitor and manage progress of components of projects against established objectives, budget, and timeline
•    work as part of a multidisciplinary consulting or joint client-consultant team to analyse issues and develop value-added solutions, specifically across life, P&C, and business consulting projects
•    interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client’s broader business issues
•    deliver high-quality work in compliance with Professional Excellence standards and proactively look for process improvement.
•    develop a strong understanding of the Life and Non Life- Insurance industry in the Czech Republic
•    manage your time effectively between multiple assignments at a time
•    contribute to sales and marketing efforts by drafting proposals and responding to Requests for Proposal (RFPs)

The Requirements

• At least 5-7 years of relevant experience in a consulting firm, financial services organization, or insurance firm
• Understanding of local regulations (in the Czech Republic)
• Expertise in actuarial software (Risk Agility, Moses, Prophet is a plus)
• A track record of performing life or non-life insurance work, as well as interest/ability to contribute to cross-practice client engagements
• Strong interpersonal and team skills
• Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity
• Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues
• Strong analytical and creative skills
• Enjoy training/mentoring junior staff
• Working knowledge of Excel, MS Project, MS Word
• Availability to travel on an as-needed basis
• Qualified actuaries or candidates who have demonstrated good progress with the actuarial examinations
• Master's or higher academic qualification in the area of actuarial science, financial risk, mathematics, statistics, or another related discipline
• Fluency in English, written and spoken
• Well-developed verbal communication skills in Czech, Slovak, or another Central Eastern European language (e.g., Slovenian, Croatian, Polish, Hungarian, Romanian, Bulgarian)
