Actuarial Senior Modelling Expert

The Actuarial Senior Modelling Expert plays a crucial role within the Actuarial Modelling team, driving the development and maintenance of actuarial models and systems. This role involves leading the team with the strategic change programme aimed at optimizing actuarial reporting models, processes, and systems. This includes leading the implementation of new technologies and techniques to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The position supports the transition from project implementation to business-as-usual operations, maintaining the performance and integrity of actuarial and finance reporting platforms.

What will you be doing?

Drive the scoping and planning of the design and development for the implementation of the Actuarial Change Programme.

Lead the review of the current end-to-end actuarial reporting platform and assess new technologies, industry techniques, and best practices for implementation.

Ensure the successful delivery of the Actuarial Change Programme, leading investigations to bridge any discrepancies between Actuarial Modelling and Reporting teams.

Ensure that all developments are designed and delivered for operational efficiency and compliance with required regulations and standards.

Facilitate the successful transition to BAU and the operationalisation of developments.

Lead the ongoing maintenance and performance of actuarial reporting models and systems, including the development and governance of any future changes to liability models, systems, and processes.

Ensure that processes and controls are maintained to operate efficiently, aligning with Aviva’s standards for financial management and accelerating reporting timelines.

Manage audit relationships and processes to ensure a clean and timely sign-off.

Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including IT, Financial Reporting, UK Actuarial Modelling, Finance, Aviva UK, and Aviva Group, to ensure alignment and effective communication.

What we're looking for?

Experienced actuary with at least 3 years of professional experience in Life Insurance companies

Experience in actuarial modelling

Good coding skills (R/Python/VBA)

Knowledge of Solvency II/IFRS17 metrics would be an asset

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - ability to establish and maintain good working collaborations with various departments.

Good English language skills (working with English-speaking clients plus creating documentation in English)
