Actuary 120335 Zurich North America is looking for an Actuary to join our Data Visualization and Actuarial Analytics Team. Our preference is for the position to be based in our Schaumburg, IL office, with consideration for individuals who may be based out of another Zurich North America office location. The Data Visualization team is part of the greater Finance & Actuarial organization. The team is tasked with transforming the way actuaries interact with, understand, consume, and present data. The Data Visualization team leverages an agile mindset to design and implement innovative visual tools to better understand and explain results across several actuarial disciplines. The Data Visualization team takes advantage of automated solutions to maximize time available to work with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver creative solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for the following: + Provide data visualization support primarily for finance actuarial including, but not limited to, reserving, planning, IFRS17, competitor analysis, actual vs. expected, and claims finance + Provide support for ad-hoc data and visualization requests as needed + Ensure accurate and timely updates of existing tools + Implement best practices in programming and data visualization + Uphold the security framework of tools and manage user permissions effectively Basic Qualifications: + Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associates Degree OR + Bachelors Degree AND + 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus FCAS or equivalent international certification OR + 10 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus ACAS or equivalent international certification Preferred Qualifications: + Prior commercial lines reserving experience + Experience in multiple functional areas (pricing, reserving, capital management) and knowledge/skills reflective of a senior practitioner + Advanced problem solving and analytical skills + Experience with the following programs and programming languages: + Power BI + Python + SQL + Microsoft Azure Data Factory + VBA + Solid project management and organizational skills to work on multiple priorities + Excellent verbal and written communication skills At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
