Rate: Competitive, based on experience
We are seeking a highly skilled Active Directory (AD) Specialist to join our team on a freelance basis for an initial 6-month contract. This project has a strong potential for extension based on the successful completion of key milestones. You will play a critical role in enhancing and managing our Active Directory infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, implement, and manage Active Directory architecture, including forests, domains, trusts, and replication.
* Enhance AD security, including the configuration of Group Policies, role-based access control (RBAC), and audit logging.
* Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness for Active Directory services.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex Active Directory, DNS, and authentication issues.
* Collaborate with internal teams to integrate Active Directory with other systems (e.g., Office 365, Azure AD, third-party applications).
* Provide documentation, training, and support for system administration staff.
* Participate in AD migration, consolidation, or upgrade projects as needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience as an Active Directory Specialist, with a strong track record of managing enterprise-scale AD environments.
* Expertise in Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019, or later) and associated AD services.
* Strong knowledge of AD security best practices, including privileged access management (PAM), least privilege models, and group policy management.
* Experience with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and Office 365 integration.
* Knowledge of LDAP, Kerberos, SAML, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solutions.
* Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for AD automation tasks.
* Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex DNS, DHCP, and network-related issues.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience with AD migrations or consolidations.
* Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.
* Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator, or similar are a plus.
