What you'll do…
ADAS Platform System Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA): Lead and conduct comprehensive Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for ADAS components and systems, including sensors (radar, cameras, ultrasonic), ECU (Electronic Control Units), and integration with vehicle networks. Identify and assess potential failure modes, including functional, safety-related, and performance-related failures, including vehicle-level impacts. Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate complex failure events and perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA) to determine the underlying causes of ADAS failures and/or performance deviations. Utilize advanced diagnostic tools (e.g., signal analysis, thermal analysis, and environmental testing) to analyze ADAS system and sensor behavior and performance. Test and Validation Support: Collaborate with test teams to design and validate test cases for failure mode detection and mitigation, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, simulation, and field validation. Assess the impact of failure modes on vehicle safety and driver assistance features under various environmental and operational conditions. Design testing methods and protocols, both virtual and physical, to validate system performance in real-world conditions. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with ADAS hardware and software engineers, systems engineers, validation teams, and suppliers to address identified failure modes and develop mitigation strategies. Act as a subject matter expert to provide technical guidance and support to product development and quality assurance teams. Provide technical expertise and guidance to cross-functional teams in the development, failure mode analysis, integration, and optimization of ADAS solutions using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies. Lead the development of the ADAS Platform System robustness actions based on the FMEA findings. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing failure analysis best practices, advanced tools, and techniques to enhance ADAS system reliability and performance. Contribute to the development of next-generation ADAS technologies with a focus on safety, security, and fault tolerance including data analytics. Design testing methods and protocols, both virtual and physical, to validate system performance in real-world conditions. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present clear, detailed reports on failure analysis findings, risk assessments, corrective actions, and ongoing improvements to senior management and stakeholders. Document failure modes, root causes, mitigation strategies, and lessons learned for future development cycles and regulatory compliance.
