Job Overview


Location: Cascadia Health – Plaza Health Center
Schedule:  This position is located at our Plaza Health Center in SE Portland. The schedule for this position is Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Saturday, 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Position Overview:
Cascadia Health is seeking a compassionate Addiction and Recovery Counselor to join our team. In this essential role, you will provide individualized addiction services and support to clients on their recovery journey, using trauma-informed and strength-based approaches. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team dedicated to promoting health and recovery.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting thorough Addiction Assessments to understand client needs.Integrating best practices such as Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed Care, and Motivational Interviewing into your daily work.Developing and implementing personalized service plans for clients.Coaching clients in setting and achieving their own goals.Evaluating and adjusting treatment plans to ensure their effectiveness.Facilitating both group and individual therapy sessions, relapse prevention plans, and family/support person sessions.Collaborating with internal and external resources to provide the best possible care.Assisting in crisis situations and supporting a Trauma Informed Care Environment.
 

Qualifications:

Required:

Addiction and Recovery Counselor II: CADC II Certification.

Preferred:

Experience with clients involved in the Child Welfare System, gender-specific populations, and the criminal justice system.Knowledge of strength-based case management, trauma-informed services, and recovery models.Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).Familiarity with DBT and Seeking Safety curriculum for men and women.

Working Conditions

Outpatient clinic setting serving a diverse population with addiction issues.Dynamic and sometimes hectic work environment with potential interruptions.Universal Precautions and alertness to potential hazards are essential.Flexibility in handling unpredictable tasks and maintaining safety in potentially volatile situations.
