We are seeking qualified individuals to design the curriculum and/or teach in this new program.

Topics will vary over time but may include the following:

o Computer and Internet Safety
o Current Events
o Oral and Written Communication
o Workplace Etiquette
o Healthy Lifestyle and Fitness
o Personal Growth
o Adult Sexuality
o Personal Finance
o Introduction to Human Services

Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop and administer substantive course content.
• Develop and administer assignments and other activities that accurately assess the students’ learning and provide timely feedback on any such assignments.
• Create a syllabus that meets Program and CPS requirements.
• Prepare and submit accurate attendance rosters, student grades, book orders, leave reports, and/or other assigned documents when due.
• Learn and effectively utilize CPS digital resources such as Blackboard and Novasis to administer tests, record attendance, and submit grades.
• Hold classes on time and for the full duration of the published class time.
• Conduct in a professional manner all class hours as assigned by the course schedule and academic calendar.
• Attend CPS faculty meetings (typically once per semester).
• Support and adhere to all CPS policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required.• Recent experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and other learning challenges and special needs.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to assess student learning through testing, presentations, and in-class simulations.
• Ability to teach adult students using methods that promote engaged learning.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications: • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Education, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work or related field preferred.
