Course Description
Artificial Intelligence can be a powerful tool to uncover and address operational inefficiencies that lead to underperformance. This course is not just for operations managers. It is for any leader committed to finding a better way every day. The course explores the use of AI tools to improve performance in the areas of workflow, productivity, and quality. By focusing on the planning and implementation of Al-supported initiatives, students will learn how to develop more effective and efficient operational practices that are aligned with business goals and overcome common challenges associated with Al adoption.
Faculty Profile and Requirements
Adjunct faculty members for our Harnessing AI for Performance Optimization course are expected to coach students on our curriculum, moderate online discussion forums using their professional experience and expertise, providing effective feedback on student coursework submissions using the JWMI grading rubrics.
Provides the highest quality education and maintains high standards of academic excellence in teaching assigned courses in the discipline. Conducts office hours as assigned.

Criteria for JWMI include:
Must have a minimum of 5-10 years of experience required in fields related to Operations, Supply Chain Management (including quality assurance and control), Product Development, Operations Excellence, Lean and Six Sigma, and Artificial Intelligence.Professional certification in Operations and Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, Lean, and/or Six Sigma is preferred, such as from APICS/ASCM and ASQ.Must have the following industry experience/knowledge (process mapping, capacity analysis, operations design, quality improvement, inventory and supply chain management, Six Sigma and Lean operations techniques, forecasting, planning and sustainability)A deep understanding and appreciation for Jack Welch’s management philosophyThe ability to both coach and instruct adult learners in an online environmentExperience with the adoption of new technology and toolsThe ability to do occasional synchronous work with studentsCommitment to student successMaintain smooth course operation and adherence to policies and procedures.Attend faculty meetings and discipline workshops as required.Education: All degrees must be conferred and from an accredited institution to be considered.
A terminal degree (doctorate) or working towards your terminal degree preferred in a business-related field or AI/ML field.Master’s degree REQUIRED in a related field.Skills:

Strayer University Adjunct Faculty are compensated based on the number and type of course(s) that are taught in a given quarter. Currently, compensation for courses ranges from $2,300 - $3,100.
