About Us: Founded in 1968 to meet the post-secondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents, Cecil College has been serving the community and shaping its future for more than 50 years. The College is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the governor. The College's fifth president, Dr. Mary Way Bolt, reports directly to the Board of Trustees. Cecil College is centrally located in Maryland's most northeastern county, just one half mile from Interstate 95. It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore, as well as from Wilmington, Delaware. With a diverse student population, Cecil College enrolls approximately 2,500 credit students and 3,400 non-credit students. Cecil offers associate degrees, certificate programs and non-credit classes. Cecil offers a variety of associate degree and certificate programs. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Positions available (day; Position is open in our dual-enrollment and ECA programs that primarily that focus on providing in person content delivery to high-school age students within the local high-schools or on the Cecil College campus). The term "Adjunct" has a very specific meaning. An Adjunct Faculty is a contract employee hired to teach specific course(s) during an academic term on a part-time basis. An Adjunct Faculty member is not eligible for benefits. Details: 1. For a fiscal year (July 1 through June 30), the Adjunct Faculty Member shall serve as a part-time employee of the College. 2. Adjunct Faculty may teach no more than 24 credit hours per fiscal year. 3. Adjunct faculty will receive a master adjunct contract, as well as course specific contract. Each course specific contract shall list: 1) the Adjunct Faculty members name, employee number, address and phone number; and 2) the course number, course title, number of credit hours, start date, end date, account code and the payment amount. Responsibilities & Duties: As an instructor, the Adjunct Faculty member's duties are to: 1. Convey the course material so that students can attain the instructional objectives of the course. 2. If requested to do so by the Department Chairperson, complete a course assessment for courses taught under the terms of this contract. 3. Ensure that all course material is available to students the first day of class via Cecil College's Learning Management system. 4. Meet program specific requirements for employment and supervision of students in any externship or capstone course. 5. Hold classes for the full amount of time specified. 6. Notify the Academic Programs Office if there is an urgent reason to miss class. 7. Be reasonably accessible to students via email or in person, return students' assignments in a timely manner. 8. Facilitate quality learning experiences for students. 9. Teach specific hours or contact hours per week as assigned. 10. Assist with student advisement and remediation. 11. Use the Academic Monitoring system as per Cecil College procedures and submit grades and all other end of semester documentation in a timely manner. 12. Use the College email account assigned to the member shall be used for College communications and shall check that account on a daily basis. 13. Actively support Cecil College's Collegiate Learning Assessment (CCLA) and Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSEE) testing programs by ensuring that designated students are released for these testing programs. Qualifications: 1. Master's degree in related discipline. 2. Only completed applications (resume, letter of application and unofficial transcripts) will receive consideration. The Fiscal Year 2025 Credit Adjunct Scale is as follows: 2 semesters of less at Cecil ($820 a credit hour for individuals with less than a Masters+60 or $845 a credit hour for individuals Masters+60 or a Earned Doctorate); More than 2 semesters at Cecil ($845 a credit hour for individuals with less than a Masters+60 or $870 a credit hour for individuals Masters+60 or a Earned Doctorate) Posted on 11/8/2024.
