Description

The Health and Wellness program at Iona University is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and student-focused adjunct instructor to teach HS 137 Human Anatomy and Physiology II lecture and 1-2 laboratory sections of the course. This introductory course, the second course of a sequence of two courses for nursing and health science majors covers the cardiovascular, endocrine, respiratory, urinary, digestive, and reproductive systems. We are seeking a proactive, innovative, and engaging individual who can integrate various technologies into their teaching (i.e., Blackboard Ultra, Anatomage©, 3D4medical Anatomy©). The individual will teach demonstrating laboratory techniques and utilize materials including anatomy models.  Lecture is Monday/Wednesday from 5:00pm – 6:18pm. Laboratory sections are Tuesday 1:00 – 3:00pm, Wednesday 2:00 – 4:00pm, and Thursday 1:00 – 3:00pm. Instructor can teach 2 of the laboratory sections offered. Teaching materials will be provided. The class will be held at the Iona University Bronxville campus

 

Responsibilities include:

Course instruction: Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction based on the approved syllabus, including lectures, discussions, and practical applications of course content. Assessment and Evaluation: Design and administer assessments, including quizzes, exams, assignments, and projects, to gauge student comprehension and course progression. Student Engagement: Create a dynamic and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation, critical thinking, and application of anatomy and physiology principles in healthcare contexts. Office Hours: Offer regular in-person or virtual office hours to provide academic support, guidance, and mentorship to students as needed. Compliance: Ensure adherence to university policies and department guidelines, including attendance, grading, and classroom conduct standards.
