Job Summary:

Adjunct Positions are filled by semester on an as needed basis. Applicants in this applicant pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy.  Review of applications will then stop for the semester once the vacancy has been filled.

The Building Construction Technologies Adjunct must be able to effectively communicate and demonstrate knowledge of specific technical skills within both the lab and classroom environment to a diverse student population. The successful candidate will be responsible for the instruction of Building Technologies course(s) in Interior Construction and/or Exterior Construction and/or Structural Framing. The successful candidate may also be required to teach classes in construction materials and methods, construction technologies, mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems, building information modeling, sustainable construction, energy management, and/or building commissioning. The successful candidate will be able to adjust instructional techniques as required by individual student learning styles while maintaining a safe and positive learning environment for students and fellow faculty members. Proven commitment to construction safety and quality construction standards is necessary. Teaching assignments may include daytime and/or evening hours.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and three years relevant experience in residential/light commercial construction field; OR Associate's Degree in a related field and five years relevant experience in residential/light commercial construction field; OR High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of ten years relevant experience residential/light commercial construction field.

Michigan Residential Builders License

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional accreditation/certification as a LEED®AP, PE, CPC, CxA, or other related credential
