This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta . Under general supervision of the Dean of Arts & Sciences, the Adjunct History Instructor (Part-Time) is responsible for developing curriculum and presenting instruction in subject areas . This is a part-time position, and it requires utilizing techniques that facilitate adult learning styles and demonstrates varying techniques. Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following: · Teach evening History classes . · Prepare syllabus and other materials such as PowerPoint presentations used classroom instruction and a ssist with curricu l um development. · Set up course (shells) in Blackboard. · Manage classroom by logging attendance, and reporting no-shows, assigning and reporting grades in a timely manner Grade student assignments, as well as submit final grades . · Advise and counsel students and maintain appropriate advisement records on each student and a ssist with recruitment efforts. · Attend department and other meetings associated with the avionics program as requested. · Maintain professional qualifications as appropriate for the field and as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Policy Manual. · Follow rules and regulations as described by the TCSG Policy Manual, and other policies and procedures established by the institution · Support the mission and vision of the college, program and TCSG ; and · Perform other program-related duties, as assigned. Competencies : + Must possess and demonstrate a positive attitude, excellent oral and written communication skills, well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills. · Ability to multi-task and perform administrative duties for class management. · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Minimum Qualifications : Must possess and demonstrate the following: · Master’s degree in History, o r at least a M aster ' s degree in a related field and eighteen ( 18 ) graduate hours in the aforementioned discipline from a regionally accredited institution. · Ability to work flexible hours when necessary. · One year of teaching experience; work experience must include the competencies, skills and knowledge levels required for H istory and general education areas. · Experience as an instructor / teacher in a secondary or postsecondary setting. · Experience with BANNER and LMS, preferred . *** May be required to teach at other locations and other locations within the community. *** PLEASE UPLOAD A RESUME, TRANSCRIPT(S) AND CERTIFICATIONS.
