THE OPPORTUNITY The Speech Consultant meets at designated times with graduate and undergraduate students, faculty, staff, alum and other participants of Babson programs. The Speech Consultant will instruct on communication assignments, train on speech techniques, tutor for presentation improvement, and provide overall coaching on specific styles of presentations and many communication-related topics. Sessions are one-one, small group, and class instruction.
WHAT YOU WILL DOParticipate in specific classes for developing individual and group presentation skills, creating personal brands, developing confidence, building interpersonal skills, and improving online communication strategies.
Performs one-on-one coaching/tutoring, delivers classroom lectures, creates and delivers various workshops, and assists faculty/staff, and special programs on new services.
Confirms student attendance, follows-up with students, attends meetings on various requirements for different programs, meets with other professors for their classroom needs, and creates new lectures for classroom visits.
Optional: Attend college events including sports games, workshops, seminars, and other community events.
Assumes additional responsibilities as required. Additional Information WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED
Requires a master’s degree, preferably a PhD or EDD, 2-3 years of college teaching experience and/or equivalent with business communication coaching experience.
Envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.
Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.
Must be flexible and willing to assume new tasks.
Positions are temporary by semester; hours and length of assignment may vary. Posting Specific Questions
