Position Details
The Adjunct Program Designers will be based out of a home office located anywhere within the contiguous United States (Pacific, Mountain, Central, and Eastern time zones) or United States territories that fall within the Atlantic time zone.
Position Details
Adjunct Program Designers will serve as temporary staff members at New Leaders, as needed, through June 30, 2025, with the possibility of extension.
Scope of Work
Produce high-quality content design and related materials.
+ Create high-quality learning experiences for New Leaders programs, ensuring that alignment among competencies, assessments, and learning activities are explicit and clear.
+ Pursue a deep understanding of program and learner roles to create learning personas, in partnership with other New Leaders staff to ensure that design solutions meet the needs of stakeholders and end users.
+ Design and develop professional learning experiences and corresponding materials (Facilitator Guides, Decks, learning resources, etc.) for both online and/or in-person sessions, adhering to New Leaders design principles and thinking, adult learning theory, learning approaches, and established learning objectives/competencies.
+ Use eLearning development processes for content development, including new course builds and course edits and content revisions
+ Integrate learning resources seamlessly into Learning Management System
+ Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
+ Provide feedback on content and learning assets, and other materials developed by the Product Design, Development, & Impact Team.
+ Work collaboratively with New Leaders staff to ensure user experience is aligned to the format and structure of New Leaders content.
Other Responsibilities
+ Serve as a member of a high-quality internal review board to ensure that all developed content consistently meets New Leaders quality for professional learning and content design.
+ Integrate learning and program approach experience and knowledge to New Leaders programs; work collaboratively with National Program and Program Implementation team leaders to leverage existing New Leaders curriculum in the new content design and ensure coherence and integration of all New Leaders content.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies
+ Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree Required.
+ Professional Experience
+ 7 years of professional experience required with 3+ years of relevant experience in eLearning and instructional design (for synchronous and asynchronous learning).
+ Proven record of success supporting adult learning around using multiple data sources to inform instructional decisions; using a cycle of inquiry and action-research; and leadership development.
+ Experience designing leadership development content for adult learners.
+ Equity-Driven: Demonstrated ability to work well with people from a wide diversity of demographic and cultural characteristics. The ideal candidate must be capable of achieving results while maintaining an inclusive, collaborative leadership style.

+ Experience designing leadership development content for adult learners.
+ Strong strategic thinking, planning, and project management skills.
+ Demonstrated excellence in relationship management, interpersonal abilities, and oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment.
+ Commitment to maintaining knowledge of new learning approaches and modalities, technology, and tools to support and enhance the learning experience.
+ Commitment to continuously build instructional design knowledge (through research, conference attendance, collaboration with expert external partners etc.) to produce high quality professional design and corresponding materials to address partner needs.
+ Strong attention to detail, superior organizational skills, time management skills, self-direction, and motivation.
+ Technology savvy for web-based instructional techniques and tools.
+ Computer proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Internet tools.
Time Commitment
+ Available for up to 18 hours per week.
+ Commit to and be available to complete the full scope of any assignment, with the exception of authorized modifications.
+ Attend any local in-person or virtual Program Design Team trainings and meetings when required.
+ Ability to travel up to 30% of your time aligned to New Leaders’ Travel and In-Person Activities policy.
+ New Leaders requires each employee to be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccination (i.e., at least two weeks have passed since the employee received the dose of a single-dose vaccine or the second dose of a two-dose vaccine with at least the minimum recommended interval between doses) or to obtain an approved exemption or reasonable accommodation through the Human Resources team within six weeks of their start date as a term and condition of employment.
Physical Requirements
The employee's routine activities involve sitting, talking, and hearing, as well as using hands for tasks such as typing, filing, and handling objects. Visual acuity is necessary for keyboard use, data analysis, transcribing, computer terminal viewing, and extensive reading. The role may involve ordinary ambulatory skills for visits to other locations or the ability to perform activities like standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and moving light-weight items. Proficiency in hand-eye coordination, along with dexterity in arms, hands, and fingers for tasks like grasping, operating standard office equipment, and learning technical information, is essential.
