UPMC Western Maryland Schwab Family Cancer Center offers patients access to world-class cancer care in their community and specializes in medical oncology. UPMC Hillman Cancer Center has partnered with community-based hospitals throughout the region to develop one of the largest integrated community networks of cancer physicians and health care specialists in the country.
This is a casual position, meaning the employee will work on an as-needed basis during daylight hours Monday through Friday. The recruitment team will place you in the correct title and rate of pay based on your experience. The minimum hiring rate for the Admin Assistant, Associate title is $17.84.
Responsibilities:
Answer, Screen, and Route Calls: Manage incoming calls and messages, responding to routine questions and directing inquiries to the appropriate staff. Visitor Management: Greet, screen, and direct visitors to the right team members, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Report Assistance: Help in researching, drafting, and abstracting routine reports, compiling and analyzing basic information. Presentation Support: Assist in preparing presentations by editing, printing, and performing basic formatting functions. Calendar Management: Maintain the supervisor’s calendar, schedule meetings and events, book conference rooms, order food, and ensure all necessary equipment is ready. May also take meeting minutes. Office Supplies and Equipment: Order office supplies and maintain office equipment to ensure everything runs smoothly. Clerical Functions: Perform routine clerical tasks such as copying, sorting, filing, and typing. Set up and maintain various office files, logs, and records. Correspondence Management: Sort, distribute, prioritize, and compose routine correspondence following established procedures. Highlight important items for the supervisor, send emails on behalf of the department head, write and send meeting reminders, and forward emails to the appropriate distribution list. General Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to a department or group of professionals under direct supervision.
