Excellent medical, dental and vision coverage effective on your very first day 2:1 Match on retirement savingsResponsibilities*Provides administrative support to assigned Clinical Pathology faculty, and back-up support for other Clinical Pathology faculty (in the absence of another administrative assistant).Includes calendar management, conference scheduling, travel arrangements, reimbursements, meeting organizational, room reservation management, case management tracking,Proficiency in departmental scheduling software (including QGenda) and Laboratory Information System (LIS, Epic, etc) applications to assist faculty in tracking cases and tracking time and service.Monthly tracking of volumes, finances, and other ad hoc reports through the department?s HC1 software (or other replacement/supplemental data analytics) as requested in order to support Clinical Pathology faculty.Prepare professional correspondence, memoranda, reports, manuscripts, and other documentation as assigned.Updates for policies and procedures in Media Lab; tracking changes in Media Lab.Assist faculty in preparing teaching materials, abstracts, grants, articles, and other miscellaneous documents for submission.Coordinate visits and/or travel arrangements for departmental guests and visitors such as candidates for Clinical Pathology faculty positions.  Liaise with external parties to plan all aspects of travel, itineraries, and reimbursement for out of pocket expenses.Event planning for department-sponsored activities (award ceremonies, social events, internal conferences, etc).Liaise with other Michigan Medicine departments and sites as needed to support assigned Clinical Pathology faculty for meetings, communications, questions, laboratory assay issues, etc.Manages telephone calls from internal and external customers, receives visitors, and resolves routine and complex inquiries.Effectively works with team members to accomplish division and departmental goals in a collegial and professional manner.Makes independent decisions regarding planning, organizing, and scheduling meetings while managing workflow.Proficient in Microsoft Office software and Outlook.Shares knowledge of university policies and procedures with peer administrative support staff.Maintain updated CV and other certification documents for faculty.Other administrative duties as assigned.Required Qualifications*High school diploma or Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.Minimum of two years of administrative support experience is necessary.Experience utilizing Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and web-based applications are necessary.Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to work independently with general supervision and maximum collaboration in a team environment.Must provide strong customer service skills in all interactions.Ability to work with a diverse group of people in a diplomatic and effective manner.Ability to multi-task and work well under time constraints.Strong organizational skills.Demonstration of commitment to Service Excellence.Desired Qualifications*Bachelor's degree.Michigan Medicine working experience.Knowledge of University policies, rules, and regulations.Modes of Work

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
