The Administrative Assistant is responsible for assisting the Chair and Faculty of the Basic Science department. Additional responsibilities include assistance to the Office manager and clerical, administrative and secretarial functions required for the effective operation of the Basic Science department.

Responsibilities

To include, but not limited to the following:

Assists Chair with entering data, collating files and records related to the COCA inspection/visitation, Basic Science Department, and additional projectsAssists Basic Science Faculty with various data entries, course assistance, document collation, and completion of reports, when neededAssists Office Manager with various tasks, as neededAssists with handling and storing department equipmentSchedules appointments, room reservations, and Zoom meetings for Chair of the Basic Science, and Faculty, as it relates to routine TouroCOM Basic Science and Faculty meetings and activitiesComposes, prepares, and edits correspondence, emails, departmental letters, and other documents for the Chair of Basic Science and FacultyCreates and develops departmental forms, binders, and memorandumsOperates all office equipment, including but not limited to computer, copier, facsimile printer, etc.Assists faculty with posting of files, announcements, grades, and quizzes to Canvas/Yuja System for TouroCOMAssists with categorizing and entering exam questions into ExamSoft Assists Faculty with posting of grades to TouroOneAssists Faculty with updates of Course syllabi, Course documentation, and Course reportsAccesses Basic Science Department budget and processes departmental purchases and reimbursements.Provides administrative support to committees as assignedProctors exams and practicals as needed Assists with organization of TouroCOM events and functionsSecures and contacts facilities, maintenance, and IT support, as needed Assist with training new employees, internsOther duties as assigned by the Chair Qualifications Education/ExperienceAssociate in Arts required.Bachelor's Degree preferred.Minimum of 1-3 years administrative experienceMinimum of Associate degree, Bachelor's degree preferredKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesGeneral administrative duties requiredDemonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal) requiredStrong analytical skillsWell-organized, punctual, and good work ethics Articulate and detail oriented Demonstrates proficiency in writing, organization, and editingStrong Interpersonal skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power Point, & OutlookWorking ConditionsSitting for long periods of timeAble to lift up to 5 lbs. Maximum Salary USD $42,041.00/Yr. Minimum Salary USD $33,632.00/Yr.
