Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Administrative Assistant – Brooklyn.
In this role, the successful candidate The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support for the Department and assigned professional staff teams, utilizing organizational and communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
Establishes and maintains a good working relationship with other departments. Reviews daily correspondence from third party payers with requests for information, and relays such requests to appropriate professional staff. Answers routine inquiries. Communicates in a professional manner with the public while working under pressure and handling multiple priorities. Assists in the routine daily tasks of the department (answering telephones, clinical review requests, scheduling transportation, etc.) in a courteous, professional manner. Performs other duties as assigned Performs a variety of administrative clerical and secretarial assignments to support the department utilizing computer, organizational and communication skills to meet the department’s administrative requirements. Has knowledge of and inputs data into software programs as necessary, including MS Office, and organizational specific programs. Responds to routine questions and inquiries. Refers non routine issues to higher levels as appropriate. Communicates with other departments as necessary for proper functioning of the Department. Maintains accurate records of petty cash spending/purchase requests. Assists staff to resolve software related issues as able and appropriate Establishes and maintains department filing/storage system. Provides photocopying, mailings, fax distribution as necessary Helps to identify supply needs for the department. Assists in maintaining supplies Monitors timeliness of responses to third party payers Assist in preparation of reports, letters, etc. Create forms, provide computer support as needed. Handle incoming and outgoing mail; open, sort and prioritize same. Distributes reports, correspondence, and other documents as necessary. Act as liaison with outside post-acute providerss to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements relative to referrals and on site evaluation. Act as first line of customer service for patients, families, visitors evaluating requests and directing to the appropriate party. Requests and obtains medical records necessary for clinical reviews or documentation review.Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School diploma required. Post high school education preferred.
1 year general office and computer experience.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $50,219.83 – $60,180.02 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
