Collectively, each program, unit, division and group work together to provide the core services to taxpayers of the State of Louisiana and stakeholders of the agency. LDR is comprised of the following groups: Tax Collection, Charitable Gaming, Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC), Debt Recovery and Louisiana Tax Free Shopping Commission. The Tax Policy and Planning Division functions include development and issuance of Department policy statements, legislative drafting and monitoring, assistance with fiscal notes; rule promulgation, tax research and technical tax support. This is accomplished via the issuance of various policy statements, which include rules promulgated under the Administrative Procedure Act, private letter rulings, revenue rulings, revenue information bulletins, policy procedure and memoranda, and statements of acquiescence or non-acquiescence. ABOUT THIS POSITION: The Administrative Assistant will perform a variety of clerical duties that will require some independent judgment, in support of the staff and/or operations of the Tax Policy and Planning Division. The incumbent must possess a comprehensive knowledge of departmental rules, regulations, and policy and procedure memoranda that support the administration. Duties include, but are not limited to: + Primary timekeeper for Tax Policy and Planning Division, including maintaining division time sheets and payroll reports using the ISIS Payroll system. + Processes routine paperwork and/or enters data into a department log or database in the servicing of a client. + Prepares requisitions for the purchase of supplies; may involve entering information into an automated system. + Receives, stores, and distributes supplies; maintains inventory of such. + Serves as clerical assistant to a Director, which may include keeping appointment schedule, preparing travel, issuing directives to others on their behalf, and relieving the Director of administrative matters. + Consult with and advise the Department's Directors and Assistant Directors concerning the organizational management of work processes, which directly affect the accomplishment of the Department's goals and objectives as the basis for all functions performed by employees. + Coordinate with Human Resources for new employee on-boarding. + Performs other duties as assigned.
