Administrative Assistant

OVERVIEW: 

The Office Assistant will provide clerical and special project support for The Salvation Army's Watsonville Corps.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare meeting notices, agendas, and minutes; and assist with other preparatory details for the Advisory Board meetings Maintain and distribute Corps calendars Maintain Corps client & volunteer files Recruit, coordinate, and train volunteers Oversee Corps programming bookkeeping Create program flyers Prepare newsletters and send thank you letters to donors Assist with finding new donors and improving relationships with already established donors Assist in maintaining and updating donor records in the database Oversee statistics for Corps Oversee Reach applications Assist with community engagement Assist the Corps Officer in coordinating the Christmas season Assist the Corps Officer in tracking PTM Assist in coordinating special events Assist in creating agenda items for Finance meetings Other related duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent (required) CA driver’s license (required) Experience as an Administrative Assistant

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Bilingual in Spanish (preferred) Team player Ability to multi-task Ability to work with a diverse population Great communication skills

EQUIPMENT USED: 

Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes)
