ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (Full Time)\n

The Prince George Native Friendship Centre is looking to hire a full time Administrative Assistant who will play a vital role as a team member of the Administration Department of our organization. This position will provide a variety of administrative supports to ensure the smooth functioning of the office. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Indigenous cultural values and principles and possess excellent organizational and communication skills. The Administrative Assistant will work closely with the Senior Executive Assistant and will report to the Executive Director.\n

Key Responsibilities: \n\nAdministrative supports: coordinating meetings and taking detailed meeting minutes, arranging travel for Senior Leadership Team, and managing various administrative requests from the Administration Team.\nOffice management: ensure the office is well stocked and efficiently functioning, troubleshooting minor issues.\nData management: assisting in the preparation of reports, presentations and other documentation for the Senior Leadership Team and\/or the Board of Directors.\nCollaboration and communication: work collaboratively with team members and departments to ensure efficiencies of information.\nPrioritize tasks and mange multiple responsibilities effectively and efficiently.\nCultural competency: demonstrate an understanding and respect for Indigenous cultures and protocols in all aspects of the work environment, and actively support a culturally safe environment for staff, clients and community.\n\n

Working conditions:\n\nThis position may require occasional evening and weekend work.\nA supportive and culturally safe and inclusive work environment.\n\n

Qualifications:\n\nHigh School Diploma: post-secondary education in office administration, business, or related field is an asset.\nA minimum of 2 years experience in an administrative role, preferable within a non-profit or social services context.\nKnowledge of Indigenous cultures and the issues impacting Indigenous communities.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail, and a strong knowledge of office management systems and procedures.\nProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and experience with database management.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nA strong commitment to teamwork and community engagement.\nExcellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.\nClear of Criminal Record Check is required.\n\n
