Administrative Assistant II (Temporary), Retina Division – Ophthalmology
Description

In this role you will provide administrative support in the Retina Division of the Department of Ophthalmology. You will work with patients scheduling appointments, obtaining authorizations, answering phones, collecting co-payments and more.  Responsibilities include:  Check-in patients and process co-payments. Coordinate and schedule patient appointments utilizing HIS (Hospital Information System) by telephone and in person. Obtain authorizations and/or referrals from various agencies/doctors for surgeries, testing and office visits. Assist patients when the doctor refers them to other doctors or facilities by calling for appointments and providing patients with necessary information for appointments. Obtain approval for refilling of prescription orders of non-narcotic medications. Fill out disability forms and insurance forms for patients; send out patients’ records after obtaining signed release.  This is a temporary position scheduled to end 6 months from hire date. May convert to Career.  Salary Range: $24.57-34.87 Hourly
