Salary Range: $45,000-$48,000 Annually

We currently have an exciting full time career opportunity available to join the HKNC team as a Administrative Assistant/SSP. Responsible for the execution of HKS’s Mission, goals and objectives through the provision of administrative assistance, interpreting and support service provider/CoNavigator assistance which will include providing visual and environmental information and some communication facilitation support for the Associate Executive Director.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Provides some Tactile ASL / English communication facilitation for on-campus DeafBlind staff, to be determined by the Associate Executive Director.
+ Serves as SSP/CoNavigator for the Associate Executive Director and Independent Living Department Supervisor providing access to visual and environmental information.
+ Ability to travel with the Associate Executive Director on a national level, to Albany, NY and Washington, DC.
+ Flexibility to follow work schedule set by the Associate Executive Director.
+ Manages travel arrangements.
+ Manages daily office procedures such as managing financial record keeping including processing invoices for services rendered.
+ Provides support to the Coordinator/New York Community Services Program and Supervisor/Independent Living Department with administrative work in accounting, case management, and transaction monitoring.
+ Manages invoices and reports for the HK iCanConnect Programs, Interpreting Services, SSP/CN Program, and other departments not listed herein.
+ Provides support to the Coordinator/Interpreting Services with scheduling of freelance and staff Interpreters to ensure full access to communications at the headquarters and in the field services as needed.
+ Submits all completed documentation for filing, billing and payroll purposes.
+ Provide support in managing/developing reports, presentations, trainings, files and data.
+ Assist with scheduling, setting up zoom meetings, attendance roll calls, ADP, Blackbaud, case management software and any other administrative tasks not listed herein.
REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
+ Associate degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
+ Three years in office management required and professional communications with experience in basic accounting
+ Fluency in American Sign Language; experience working with Deaf and DeafBlind preferred
+ Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Pro, Zoom and the internet are also required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
+ Experience in providing Support Service Provider/CoNavigator services
+ Must maintain a valid driver's license and current driving insurance at all times.
