Administrative Assistant - Volunteer Services, PRN

Job Summary:

This position is accountable to perform administrative support, including scheduling, supporting and/or managing special projects, and various other duties related to the effective operation of the department.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Performs routine clerical and administrative duties as assigned in a prompt, effective, organized, and confidential manner to ensure department efficiency.Interacts courteously and effectively with volunteers and all department customers to give assistance, answer questions, and facilitate departmental operations. Exhibits a positive and professional image.Maintains the volunteer database, volunteer schedules, monitors vacancies/absences, and assists with filling vacancies.  Prepares newsletters, bulletin boards, and other communication tools for the department.Creates and enhances presentations; as well as orientation and onboarding materials, as needed.Assists with special projects, events, and training programs in order to meet identified project goals and objectives.Researches and prepares information, as requested.Participates in educational programs to enhance professional growth and development. Keeps abreast of current educational literature related to position. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent required, with some college preferred.At least one year of recent administrative experience required; multi-generational customer service experience preferred.Ability to work and communicate with multi-generations.Proficient interpersonal, writing, and other communication skills required.Previous experience with Microsoft Office, email, computer knowledge including, but not limited to, spread sheets, database management, graphics, presentations, and internet communications required.
