The Division 9 Roadside Environmental Unit manages field operations within several North Carolina counties. This Administrative Associate II position will assist with creating and maintaining requisitions in SAP Database and daily maintenance of management system task number assignments. This position will be responsible for Entering, transferring, and approving time worked for all employees within the unit, service entry sheets, inventory issues, accident report processing, and document meeting minutes. Additional duties will include file retention, file purging, maintaining the general files for this office, call monitoring and call routing. The Administrative Associate II must provide excellent customer service and be able to operate general office equipment. Must be able to work independently in an environment with minimal supervision with a high level of accuracy. This position will also serve as the co-coordinator for the Adopt-A-Highway Program for Division 9. Position #60020982. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies + Customer service experience, including resolving customer issues + Experience with Microsoft Office using programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel + Experience completing and/or maintaining records and reports + Experience reviewing detailed documents and records for accuracy and completeness + Experience with letter writing, using correct spelling, punctuation, and proofreading Additional Expectations: Effective communication skills are required in both verbal and written tasks. Possess general mathematical skills and significant vocabulary/grammar skills for proofreading correspondence, reports, and other documents. Ability to schedule and coordinate a variety of appointments, meetings, and or conferences. Applicant should be computer literate and possess experience using modern word processing, spreadsheet, email, and internet software, along with the ability to learn and apply NCDOT specific computer programs such as SAP, Ariba, and SharePoint. Candidates should possess composition skills, and attention to detail with data entry and correspondence. Management prefers a candidate with customer service experience and a personable attitude. Must be able to work in an indoor environment. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
