Administrative Coordinator, Senior - MEC
Amentum
• Primary Light Vehicle, Pisten Bully, and Mattrack trainer for all grantees and support personnel on proper safe use of vehicles.
• Schedules training classes for ASC, NSF and other support personnel when they arrive in McMurdo.
• Manages the pool of trucks and track vehicles, to include data management, scheduling, tracking use, and keeping the vehicles clean.
• Inputs data into the Training Database.
• Coordinates weekly staff safety training.
• Maintains inventory of capital equipment, including allocation and tracking.
• Determines mechanical problems and necessary services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules.
• Prepares Work Orders (WO) by validating discrepancies describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required, obtaining approval signatures
• Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of equipment; answering questions and concerns; scheduling maintenance times with customer
• Maintains equipment records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.
• Coordinates hazardous cargo certification of MEC equipment with USAP Cargo.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading manufacturers' publications.
• Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests. Explores opportunities to add value to customers experience and level of service.
• Maintains a safe workplace program and ensures that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
• Performs other duties as required.
Required Education, Experience, Certificates and Licenses:
• High School diploma or GED
• Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a secretarial or administrative position
Expected Skills and Competencies:
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Word; ability to accurately document changes to work orders and timesheet software programs.
• Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; proficient at communicating to management, staff, colleagues, and Program Officials.
• Critical problem-solving and decision-making ability; able to work under minimal supervision.
• Must be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working in extreme outdoors weather conditions.
• Must be able to solve problems quickly, safely, and effectively.
• Attention to detail extremely important.
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher education
• Experience in vehicle/equipment operation
• Able to speak publicly in a classroom setting
• Self-motivator and seeks out tasking when needed
Physical and/or Other Requirements:
• Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods
• Successful completion of Medical and Dental examinations required by the NSF for deployment to Antarctica
• Successful completion of drug screening and background check required by employer
• Successful completion of Federal Background Check required by the NSF
• Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum as required by the position.
• Must be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors in extreme cold as required by the position.
• Must participate in community programs, such as “house-mouse” (chores), “daisy-picking” (cleaning-up around the station), recycling efforts & safety objectives.
• Valid Driver’s License issued in the United States
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
