This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, temporary, grant-funded position. The grant is expected to end on or before 09/30/2028, and the continuation of the position is contingent upon continued funding. Two years of relevant administrative experience or experience in a related field. Experience in K-12 or Higher Education is desirable. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered. Nature & Purpose of Position Performs administrative support for a multi-year grant and works collaboratively with the Garrett Center director and project coordinators to support individuals with disabilities transitioning to college and employment. Primary Responsibilities Coordinates with the Garrett Center director to manage daily operations, including maintaining current communications via the website, email, and social media. Recommends, coordinates, and implements internal policies, procedures, and workflows related to the Garrett Center and College of Education (COE). Attends meetings, takes and distributes notes. Maintains comprehensive records, analyzes data, and ensures the secure storage of confidential materials. Prepares, reviews, revises, and distributes reports, documents, and correspondence. Monitors project timelines and identifies potential risks to productivity. Conducts research for preparation and dissemination of information. Develops, coordinates, and implements assigned processes. Plans, coordinates, and supports SHSU and community events. Coordinates with COE travel coordinator to manage travel. Works with COE Grant Coordinator to monitor budgets and accounts and coordinate expenditures. Serves as liaison and maintains contact with other university departments, faculty, staff, and community members to provide an overview of services and resources. Provides daily organizational and administrative support duties for the Garrett Center, and other related duties as assigned. Other Specifications A thorough knowledge of office systems and the ability to solve operational issues. Willingness and ability to learn detailed knowledge of and implement SHSU and COE infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Ability to operate with a high level of accuracy and perform work of considerable complexity. Ability to identify and incorporate continuous changes in policies and procedures to ensure university and department compliance. Ability to be self-motivated and work independently. Communicate effectively with the Garrett Center director, faculty, staff, and administrative staff on and off campus. Position requires 5-10% of travel.
