Advance understanding of the mechanisms by which environmental and occupational chemical exposures impact human health.
Identify and measure human environmental and occupational exposures to chemicals. Treat populations adversely affected by chemical exposures. Develop educational tools describing relative risks of chemical exposures. Contribute to public policies related to environmental and occupational chemical risks. Offer training programs for environmental health professionals.

Develops and implements initiatives to improve administrative functions such as data management, quality assurance, claims management, and optimizing workflows to maximize patient care and efficiency. 

Duties include: Under supervision, coordinates administrative initiatives for the World Trade Center Health Program at Rutgers. Supports the Project Manager in developing workflows to ensure compliance with program guidelines and maximize quality outcomes in patient care and provider relations Assists in reviewing and adjudicating medical claims in accordance with program guidelines. Performs billing reconciliation and responds to claim related inquiries from members and providers. Conducts referral and pre-authorization requests to in network specialty providers. Reviews incoming requests for administrative compliance with the WTC Health Program codebook. Assists in the management of legal record releases and associated materials for World Trade Center patients applying for state and federal compensation programs.  Serves as a liaison within the department, University, and the WTC provider network to improve communication and patient care delivery. Attends departmental meetings and provides input into the development of initiatives to increase operational efficiency.
