**POSITION DETAILS**
The Center for Discovery and Innovation is a 200,000 ft2 modern research facility at the City College of New York. It provides a collaborative research environment for faculty from the College's Division of Science and Grove School of Engineering as well as the CUNY School of Medicine. Research includes structural biology and biochemistry, nanoscience, photonics, organic and natural products chemistry, neuroscience, materials science, climate change studies, and more. The building houses core facilities in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), X-ray Diffraction, microscopy and high-throughput molecular synthesis and testing. Reporting to the Associate Provost for Research, the Administrative Manager Will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight and maintenance of this critical research facility.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Works with the Office of Research and faculty principal investigators whose labs are housed in the CDI to provide a functional, efficient, and comfortable research environment for all. This includes timely communication, consistent follow-up, and consultations with both individuals and groups of faculties in order to assess satisfaction, understand limitations, and work to common solutions.
• The CDI Administrative Manager will work closely with the Facilities Department to coordinate and monitor infrastructure maintenance, ensuring that all critical systems such as lighting, HVAC, and research equipment are functioning efficiently. This role involves liaising closely with the Facilities Department to ensure timely repairs, maintenance, and upgrades. The Administrative Manager will communicate regularly with all Principal Investigators (PIs) on the general status of the building, such as common areas are maintained in a clean and orderly condition, promptly notifying stakeholders of any infrastructure disruptions.
• The Administrative Manager will coordinate with the Office of Public Safety to manage and maintain a comprehensive database of security access credentials. This includes overseeing access levels for individuals, processing new access requests, and conducting regular reviews to ensure that access permissions are up-to-date and aligned with building security protocols.
• In collaboration with the CCNY Office of Property Management, oversees the tracking and maintenance of all CUNY-tagged property within the premises, ensuring timely decisions on preventative maintenance and replacements.
• Collaborates with the Department of Information Technology to coordinate network maintenance and upgrades and facilitate conference room upgrades and upkeep.
• Coordinates any relevant accounting, purchasing and invoice processing for equipment and infrastructure upkeep, repair, or replacement in consultation with the CCNY Office of Research.
• Collaborates with the Department of Environmental Health and Safety and the Office of Research, to convene committees, working groups, and/or studies related to issues of safety, compliance, and other elements related to the safe and responsible conduct of research.
• Facilitates visitors and guests who come to the CDI for meetings, events, tours, or short-term visits.
• May supervise student workers.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
This staff member is expected to be on the premises in person 100% of the time, however, occasional remote ("telework") may be allowed if pre-approved by the direct supervisor.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelor’s degree and six years’ related experience required.
A preferred candidate will have:
• A Masters or PhD degree in the sciences.
• Experience working in a higher-education or other non-profit research-driven scientific operation.
• Knowledge of and experience with state-of-the-art technology used in scientific research and research facility infrastructure maintenance.
• The ability to manage multiple ongoing projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Independently carries out unit activities such as approvals, student interactions, and participation in campus- or university-wide committees and projects.

Salary Range: $96,602 - $104,057. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
