Summary About the Position: This is an Administrative Officer, GS-0341-12 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division (SWD), Fort Worth District, Programs and Project Management Division (PPMD) and will be located in Fort Worth, TX. Position may be filled as a Term Appointment Not to Exceed (NTE) 2 years. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Responsibilities Manage work assignments for lower graded administrative staff to ensure assignments are completed on time. Manage special projects for the organization such as utilization of special accounts, staffing, or training. Formulate the operating budget for an organization to ensure there is funding for pay, procurement of supplies, travel, or training. Manage the use of organization expense accounts for pay, procurement of supplies, travel, or training. Administer personnel management within the organization to ensure the organization can fill position vacancies efficiently. Review personnel action requests to ensure conformance with policy. Assist management in planning organization staffing to reduce the number of position vacancies. Perform market research, vendor selection, and purchases using the government purchase credit card and the government training credit card. Managing the training program for an organization. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 2 out of 3 of the following duties: 1) analyzing personnel action requests to assure conformance with policy; OR 2) advising management officials on policy changes affecting the organization; OR 3) providing administrative support to an organization including personnel management, budget formulation, or purchase card program management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Financial Management Workforce Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
