Summary THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is part of the IN HQ IN ANG, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number D2368000. Responsibilities Ensures internal systems and procedures for carrying out the organization's administrative functions meet the requirements of balancing costs, benefits, productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness. Accomplishes or assigns actions/staff work to subject matter experts/functional proponents as appropriate based on knowledge of organizational responsibilities, familiarity with subject matter, and broad guidance from the command group. Initiates, plans, directs, and/or participates in special studies and projects in areas such as; resource utilization, personnel management, logistical support, knowledge management, readiness programs, etc. Researches, reviews, and analyzes processes and procedures to determine the overall applicability, effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of activities and programs. Represents the Wing in meetings with congressional, state and local officials, special interest and business group spokespersons to market and advertise ANG programs, activities, and requirements to gain support for ANG missions. Collaborates and consults with Wing Public Affairs Officer (PAO), drafts, develops, and finalizes narrative, prepares and coordinates news releases with State JFHQ to support communication with local media. Performs as the historian, responsible to ensure timely, complete and accurate capture and cataloging of significant historical data, and generation of required reports. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications MILITARY GRADES: O1 THROUGH O5 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in managing or directing, one or more programs, including appropriate supporting service organizations. Supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work experience and/or training which has provided knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions. Experience preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence. Experience evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various resources. Experience utilizing the organization, its mission and the organizational staff procedures. Experience using quantitative and qualitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of administrative and technical programs. Experience developing the mission and work processes of programs throughout the military organization and multi-level agencies. Experience in analytical and investigative techniques. Must have 12 months specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. If approved, the memorandum will be returned to you and then submitted with your application. Education You may combine education with specialized experience to meet the length of experience requirement for GS-12. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
