Position Information Posting Number 20112975 Position Title Administrative Specialist FTE 1.0 Position Type Staff Department Center for Academic Success Position Summary Information Job Summary/Basic Function About This Role: This position provides complex administrative support to the Accessibility Resource Center ( ARC ). Responsibilities include handling incoming calls, routing calls, answering questions from students, faculty, staff, and the public, and processing email requests for communication access for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. The role involves interpreting and explaining policies and procedures and resolving issues as needed. What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities: + Administrative Support & Communication Access + Perform administrative support functions with a focus on Communication Access. + Process and complete scheduling requests for communication access services for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students. + Assist with student scheduling, accommodations, alternative testing, and other related tasks. + Customer Service & Public Interaction + Handle incoming calls and route them appropriately. + Answer questions from students, faculty, staff, and the public. + Process email requests for communication access and alternative format course materials. + Data Management & Reporting + Compile data related to students with disabilities. + Actively participate in annual program outcomes for ongoing process evaluation and improvement. + Vendor & Financial Processing + Facilitate purchase orders and vendor payment requests received by the department. + Policy Interpretation & Problem Resolution + Interpret and explain policies and procedures. + Resolve problems or complaints as necessary. Key Competencies: + Effective communication and excellent customer service skills. + Highly organized with strong attention to detail. + Strong confidentiality ethic. + Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively. + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software. + Resourcefulness in problem-solving and adapting to departmental procedures. + Tact and judgment in handling confidential information Physical Requirements: + Able to lift 25 pounds and be able to perform a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing, and walking between buildings. Job Conditions: + Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions.
