Your role

 

CBC Halifax is looking for an Administrative Specialist - Resources to work full time for six months with the Administrative/Resourcing team. There will be a possibility of extension.

You will work closely with the news operations to support the ongoing administration of the newsroom. The Administrative Specialist will be responsible for scheduling of staff and plant resources, reconciling schedules for payment, stationery management, providing support to staff in areas such as attendance and travel management, as well as general office duties. 

This role requires full time on-site presence at the Halifax station.

We are looking for a candidate with the following: 

College diploma or equivalent experience, preferably in a field such as radio or television production or Business Administration.

Two years of related experience in a scheduling environment.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work comfortably and thoroughly with large volumes of data within a variety of systems.

Ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Diplomacy and discretion is a must.

Confidentiality is a must as you will work with sensitive information.

Superior organizational and time management skills.

Ability to prioritize and work independently as well as within a team. Flexibility is required.

Demonstrated understanding of labour laws and familiarity with working in an environment governed by a collective agreement.

Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Proficiency in Google applications.

Previous experience with ScheduAll, Livelink and SAP is considered to be a strong asset.

Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
