Description of Work

The position is in the Quality Control Unit of Business Services which examines and inspects title and registration documents for proper completion and fee collection according to State and Federal requirements. This position is responsible for directly supervising employees in the day-to-day operations within the unit; identifying problems and determining corrective action needed to resolve the problems; monitoring employee’s work performance; assigning job duties; counseling and disciplining employees as required; approving leave and maintaining records; keeping employees informed of policy changes and conducting training for new and current employees as needed.
This position verifies source documents for evidence of potential fraud and/or alterations and will review & enter data, using the State Titling and Registration System (STARS) mainframe database while maintaining a daily production goal.
The program area for this position includes one or more of the following areas: administrative experience examining and inspecting legal or DMV documents for accuracy and completion and/or experience using STARS.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
Applicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following:
+ Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, Word and Outlook.
+ Working knowledge of the State Title and Registration Mainframe System (STARS)
+ Working knowledge gathering and analyzing data in order to determine proper courses of action including proficiency in inspecting documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
+ Experience resolving stakeholder issues including interpreting and explaining policy and procedures, rules, regulations, and/or law to a diverse clientele.
Management Prefers:
+ Experience with inspecting title and registration documents.
+ Experience organizing workflow and training employees.
+ Experience monitoring and reviewing employee performance and providing constructive feedback.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
