Responsibilities Assist with the development and formulation of the office budget to secure annual funding. Procure office supplies and equipment to ensure office operations. Manage office filing system to ease search of information. Prepare correspondence, meeting notes, forms, and documentation. Read incoming correspondence, publications, regulations, and directives to determine appropriate courses of action or personnel to forward. Perform administrative duties such as payroll, time and attendance, scheduling maintenance for property and/or vehicles. For the GS-06 You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: perform recurring or standardized budgetary tasks such as tracking obligations and expenditures, maintain budget documents, and extracting information from automated budget systems; purchase office supplies and equipment in accordance with organizational procedures; prepare travel vouchers in an automated travel system; assist travelers with travel arrangements, resolutions to travel issues, and audit of travel records to ensure accurate processing; prepare, edit, and finalize correspondence to disseminate to appropriate personnel; maintain the central filing system; and process incoming and outgoing correspondence. For the GS-07 You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: assist local systems administrators create employee profiles, manage access, and resetting passwords; assist with the development and formulation of office budget for multiple accounts; review budget information to identify issues; assist with the preparation of personnel forms and documents such as position descriptions, rating plans, job analyses, and requests for personnel actions; purchase office supplies and equipment in accordance with organizational procedures; coordinate with higher level procurement/contracting staff for purchases over micro-purchasing thresholds; and provide assistance in researching and locating reference information and files. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
