Administrative Support Assistant
Summary Serves as a technical and procedural member of the Administrative Team, in support to the Supervisor, Division Management and Staff. Utilizes expertise in the technical, procedural, and administrative functions of the office to provide Executive level assistance, accurate guidance, analysis, and interpretation of issues and work requests. May periodically serve as secondary point of contact or Team Coordinator and provide oversight, continuity of services, and smooth workflow. Responsibilities Serves as a technical and procedural member of the Administrative Team, in support to the Supervisor, Division Management and Staff. Utilizes expertise in the technical, procedural, and administrative functions of the office to provide Executive level assistance, accurate guidance, analysis, and interpretation of issues and work requests. Utilizes knowledge of the Programs and operations, rules and processes to perform specialized duties in assigned functional and program areas involving a wide variety of problems and situations. Develops charts, graphs, and presentation material for reports and briefings. Exercises seasoned knowledge in various functions of the Administrative Team, and overall knowledge of objectives and policies governing the direction and execution of administrative functions. Provides expertise and training to administrative team in the proper maintenance of fiscal inventories, formal records policies and the exchange of knowledge to help support mission execution. Maintains Division Calendars and provides support to Management and staff on continuity of operations with District entities. Provides guidance for timekeeping issues, and understands the different pay plans and associated rules and restrictions, coding/charging time, and governing regulations. Specialized Experience GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Advising on the technical aspects of office automation, IT Support, software purchasing coordination, data processing, inventory or property controls, purchasing and distribution and/or file management; and 2) Performing administrative duties to support the continuity of services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Specialized Experience GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Providing guidance to and assisting personnel on administrative matters such as, inventory facilitation, timekeeping, property tracking services or supply transactions, and /or records management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
