Summary About the Position: Incumbent performs a wide variety of administrative management duties under the general supervision of the Staff Action Officer. Incumbent proceeds independently to plan and carry out assignments to include obtaining and presenting data and advice necessary for the proper functioning and management of the organization.This position may require temporary duty travel 5-10% of the time. Responsibilities Prepare reports using word processing software, spreadsheets, databases, or presentation software to provide managerial support. Performs digital file management such as scanning paper documents, uploading documents to data management software, saving and organizing file archives. Compose official correspondence such as memorandums and business letters from draft, verbal instruction, or software programs. Reviews correspondence for compliance with agency correspondence directives. Serve as Timekeeper. Monitor records and documents of procurement actions to ensure compliance with procurement policy. Maintains the branch credit card insuring its proper use with Fiscal Law guidelines and prompt timely payment of bills Reconcile purchase records with credit card invoices in accordance with policy and procedures. Requirements for GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing duties that include: (1) Provide all aspects of administrative support within an office; (2) Maintain time and leave records for office; (3) Purchase supplies and equipment using a purchase credit card in accordance with office guidelines and policies; (4) Prepare and monitor documents required for procurement actions using a financial management system such as Corps of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS); (5) Maintain training records and databases, prepare and coordinate training requests. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget Administration Clerical Computer Skills Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
