Summary This job opportunity is for an ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SPECIALIST, position description NGT5810400, within the 108TH WG of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 5, Excepted Service position. The primary purpose of the position is to serve as a full-time resource advisor and administrative officer for the Unit. Responsibilities As an ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SPECIALIST, GS-0301-9, you will: Serve as the Commander's Resource Advisor, assuring full planning, execution, and accountability for the Unit's financial and workday resources. Serve as the lead for all unit administrative support functions. Plan, implement, and manage the Records Management Program for the Unit according to Air Force directives, instructions, and general guidance from Higher Headquarters. Proposes, drafts, and maintains Unit spend plans, forecasting the unit's use of Military Personnel and Operations and Maintenance funds, as well as Annual Training, Proficiency Training, Training Period Preparation Assembly, and Full-Time National Guard workday resources. Recognize need, initiate action, directs or personally formulates new administrative policies and procedures, and recommends changes designed to improve administrative efforts or services. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Areas of Consideration: CAT 8, US Citizens Participation in direct deposit is mandatory May be required to successfully complete a probationary period Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service Qualifications General Experience: · Skilled in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; · Ability to clearly enunciate English without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit effective communication; · Ability to write English in reports and presentation formats; · Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; · Skilled in presenting formal training presentations and briefings; · Ability to assess body language and perceive emotional and/or distress levels; and, · Skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program material. Specialized Experience: Must have at least 12 months of the following Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations.
