The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, and direct the activities of the squadron, ensuring that acquisition, training management, financial management, and contract management comply with regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Responsibilities Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies proper acquisition guidelines, policies, regulations, etc. Coordinates, performs, and monitors a wide variety of administrative and management services essential to the operations Serves as a focal point for the squadron, flight and project level cost input into financial tracking systems and functions Assists the squadron training manager in developing/preparing and tracking reports Advising squadron management and supervisors of recurring ancillary as well as professional training requirements and individual training status of assigned personnel Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the generalized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series located here GENERALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year or will have one year within 120 days of the closing of this announcement, general experience which must have been equivalent to the next lower pay band (NH-01) grade level (GS-04) or equivalent and at a level close to the work of this position that has given me the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform. Typically, we would find this experience in work within this field that is closely related. To be creditable, at least one year of the general experience must have been equivalent to the next lower pay band (NH-01) grade level (GS-04) or equivalent. This experience will provide a basic knowledge of planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the squadron, ensuring that acquisition, training management, financial management, and contract management comply with regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. OR EDUCATION: I have successfully completed a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts OR Combination of experience and education that provides me with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of a Administrative Support Specialist Ideal Candidate Statement (Not to be used for qualification determination): The ideal candidate for this job is an experienced HR specialist who is knowledgeable in Human Resources to include Air Force Civilian hiring process, Defense Travel System, Civilian Time Keeping, and utilizing training resources. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of commonly used concepts, principles, and practices and practices used in managing program, budget, financial management, contract management, and acquisition sufficient to plan, coordinate, organize, and administer support for the squadron's mission Knowledge of missions, functions, goals, objectives, work processes, and sources of funding pertinent to squadron programs/organizations Knowledge of sources of factual information about and related to processes of program, budget, financial management, contract management, and acquisition Knowledge of federal, DoD, Air Force, and joint regulations, practices, and procedures applicable to the areas of responsibility Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to produce a variety of documents, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, graphs and charts Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relations within a technically diverse workforce This position is subject to Administrative Careers with America (ACWA) Testing.
