Responsibilities Serves as accounting technical expert for Civil Works, Military, and Revolving Fund Programs. Evaluate account balances, trends, and conditions thereof to provide guidance to account responsible employees and the Finance Officer. Project fund requirements and recommendations to managers and higher authority for additional requirements. Initiate and recommend procedures and policies to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse of resources. Supports CFO audits and assist in formulating resource management policies to align with standards, aiming to prevent waste and fraud. Give financial advice and recommendations based on laws, regulations, and professional knowledge of accounting practices. Projects and manages funding needs, evaluates operating accounts, and advises on financial trends for planning and organizational alignment, recommending adjustments for efficiency and goal achievement. Certify funds upon validation of compliance with laws, regulations, and policies and perform other duties as assigned and directed by the Finance and Accounting Officer. Utilize Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), Business Objects, and Corps of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS) to retrieve data, design ad hoc reports, format reports to allow for interactive analytics. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: experience in performing a variety of clerical and administrative work for an office such as experience in using various office automation systems (MS Office), excel spreadsheets, experience maintaining databases, and experience monitoring/tracking budgets e.g. training, travel, and supply. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
