Administrative Technician
Description We are in search of an Administrative Technician in Newport News, Virginia. The primary role of this position is to assist clients in understanding and accessing a variety of benefits available to them. Responsibilities • Assist clients in understanding and accessing a variety of benefits including healthcare, housing, welfare, social security and more • Provide detailed information regarding available services to clients • Handle the processing of documents related to benefit applications • Serve as an intermediary between clients and benefit providers or agencies, advocating on behalf of clients when needed • Navigate and interpret complex documents and programs to assist clients • Maintain the confidentiality of client information while keeping accurate records • Assist in resolving any conflicts or issues that arise between clients and benefit providers • Collaborate with team members, making referrals as necessary to ensure comprehensive support for clients • Stay up-to-date with laws, regulations, and policies related to various benefits. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative role, preferably within the non-profit sector. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Proven experience in handling both inbound and outbound calls in a detail oriented manner. • Exceptional customer service skills with a track record of maintaining positive client relationships. • Demonstrated ability to schedule appointments efficiently, ensuring optimal use of resources. • Familiarity with welfare and medical benefits, with the ability to explain these to clients clearly. • Strong data entry skills, with a focus on accuracy and speed. • Experience in managing detail oriented email correspondence, with excellent written communication skills. • Knowledge of industry-specific software and online platforms may be advantageous. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a high level of initiative.
