Administrative Technician

Description We are in search of an Administrative Technician to join our non-profit team based in Newport News, Virginia. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for aiding clients in comprehending and availing the various benefits they are entitled to. This opportunity offers short term contract employment.
Responsibilities:
• Assist clients in understanding the various services and benefits they are eligible for.
• Aid in filling out application forms and processing documents related to multiple benefits such as healthcare, housing, welfare, social security, etc.
• Act as a liaison between clients and benefit providers or agencies, advocating for clients when required.
• Interpret complex documents and programs to offer assistance to clients.
• Ensure the confidentiality and accuracy of client records.
• Address any conflicts or issues that arise between clients and benefit providers.
• Work collaboratively with the team and make referrals as necessary to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
• Keep abreast of laws, regulations, and policies related to various benefits.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook for data entry, email correspondence, and scheduling appointments.
• Ensure excellent customer service through inbound and outbound calls. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a similar role within the non-profit sector.
• Proven proficiency in customer service, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with data entry, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage email correspondence effectively, ensuring timely responses and follow-ups.
• Experience handling inbound and outbound calls professionally.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Experience in scheduling appointments, managing calendars and coordinating meetings.
• Knowledge of welfare benefits, demonstrating the ability to guide and assist clients as necessary.
• Familiarity with medical benefits, capable of providing accurate information and guidance to clients.
