Administrative Technician
Description We are providing an opportunity for an Administrative Technician in the non-profit sector, to join our team in Newport News, Virginia. As an Administrative Technician, you will be instrumental in assisting clients to comprehend and utilize various benefits available to them. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Assist clients with understanding and accessing various services and benefits. • Facilitate the completion of application forms and process documents related to benefits such as healthcare, housing, welfare, social security, etc. • Act as a liaison between clients and benefit providers or agencies, advocating for clients when required. • Interpret complex documents and programs to provide assistance to clients. • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in record-keeping of client information. • Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise between clients and benefit providers. • Collaborate with other team members and make referrals as needed to ensure clients receive comprehensive support. • Stay updated with laws, regulations, and policies related to various benefits. • Utilize Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Word to manage data and schedule appointments. • Deliver high-quality customer service through both inbound and outbound calls and email correspondence. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative role • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook • Demonstrated experience in customer service • Proven skills in data entry and email correspondence • Experience in handling both inbound and outbound calls • Ability to schedule appointments efficiently • Knowledge of welfare and medical benefits • Previous experience in the non-profit sector is preferred but not required • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail • Experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Willingness to take on additional tasks as needed to support the team.
