Administrative Technician
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Administrative Technician in Newport News, Virginia. As part of a Non-Profit organization, you will be pivotal in assisting clients to comprehend and avail various benefits. You will facilitate the process of application forms, manage documents related to benefits like healthcare, housing, welfare, social security, and more. As an Administrative Technician, you will act as a liaison between clients and benefit providers or agencies, advocating for clients when needed. Responsibilities: • Provide clients with pertinent information about benefits and services available to them • Assist clients in completing application forms for various benefits • Navigate and interpret complex documents and programs to assist clients • Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of client information • Advocate for clients in interactions with benefit providers or agencies • Resolve any issues or conflicts that might arise between clients and benefit providers • Collaborate with team members and make referrals as necessary to ensure comprehensive client support • Stay updated with laws, regulations, and policies related to various benefits • Utilize Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Word for data entry and email correspondence • Schedule appointments and handle inbound and outbound calls to provide customer service. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years experience in an administrative or similar role within a non-profit setting • Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service • Proficient in data entry with a keen eye for detail and accuracy • Demonstrated ability to manage email correspondence effectively and professionally • Experience in handling both inbound and outbound calls in a busy office environment • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation and analysis • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook for managing email communications, calendars, and scheduling appointments • Proficiency in Microsoft Word for creating and editing documents • Experience in scheduling appointments, coordinating schedules, and managing multiple calendars • Familiarity with welfare benefits, including their application and management • Knowledge of medical benefits, including their application and management.
