The Administrator, Research Administration and Operations provides guidance and support to the departmental project teams, contractors and stakeholders. In addition, this role is responsible for the monitoring and reporting on project and research core fund budgets and ensuring projects are meeting milestones. The Administrator, Research Administration and Operations supervises and directs assigned research staff and oversees the daily operational activities of the team.

Qualifications:
A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in a recognized business or sciences program plus a minimum of three (3) year’s recent, related experience in a research environment and experience in project management. A minimum of one year of supervisory experience is required. Demonstrate success in broad business skills including project management, development of business, strategic, financial, marketing and forecasting plans and human resources operations.You have:
Knowledge and understanding of research operations in a unionized setting including a thorough knowledge of labour relations and the application of Collective Agreements. Ability to supervise and/or provide leadership in an interdisciplinary team environment. Analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. Demonstrated interpersonal skills to facilitate teamwork and team building. Demonstrate oral, written and presentation skills. Ability to plan, organize and accomplish objectives in an effective and efficient manner. Ability to prioritize workload to successfully meet deadlines and manage multiple projects concurrently. Knowledge of and experience working in a research environment, including managing the pre and post grant application process. Advanced skills in word processing, spreadsheet presentation and database software applications. Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019). Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Job Type: Regular, Full-Time
Wage: $67,861-$97,550 per year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
