Location: Binghamton, NY Category: Professional Posted On: Wed Jul 2 2025 Job Description: Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3) Salary: $60,000 Job duties include: + Assist Director of Admission and Student Services in all aspects of social work admissions, recruitment, advising and student services support tasks + Support the social work administrative team with tasks specific related student services and support + Review and recommend updates to policies for Online and Brick and Mortar MSW programs + Meet with and correspond with prospective social work students (BSW, MSW and online students) + Manage the department of Social Work's social media accounts, and monitor the department's website and social media presence + Serve as Academic Advisor for social work students + Maintain and update student records, assist with DegreeWorks audits, and manage departmental databases to accurately track student registration, academic progress, and completion milestones + Monitor online student engagement and academic progress, including reaching out to provide retention support, referrals, and resources to promote student success + Facilitate virtual programming such as online student town halls, and community-building events that reflect the values of the social work profession and support online student belonging + Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and success initiatives which support needs of Online MSW students, including time zone flexibility and virtual engagement strategies + Serve as primary liaison for Online MSW students regarding course sequencing, field placement preparation, and compliance with licensure and state regulations across distance-learning jurisdictions + Collaborate with faculty and instructional designers to ensure online course materials and student support services are accessible, inclusive, and aligned with social work values and competencies Job Requirements: + Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Social Work or a related field + A minimum of one year of professional experience in a university setting, or administrative office + Effective organizational, administrative and time management skills + Critical thinking skills and the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks with competing priorities Preferred: + MSW degree (or higher) + Two years post MSW work experience + LMSW or LCSW or license eligibility Visa sponsorship is not available for this position Additional Information: Offers of employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check and verification of degree(s) and credentials.
