Admissions Coord I - Part time
**Job Summary** Manages patient referrals for admissions and coordination of patient transition to the Behavioral Health Units. Drives volumes through establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with Physicians, Care Managers, and Social Workers within acute care organizations, long-term acute care facilities, and physician practices. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to determine the appropriateness of admissions. Maintains regulatory compliance for the pre-admission, admission and post-admission process related to their role. **Essential Functions** + Plans, organizes and implements the referral intake/inquiry process for Behavioral Health Unit. + Collects information from incoming patients regarding services needed, insurance available, and/or financial status. + Assists with completion of admissions and insurance forms. + Assists in planning for discharge and aftercare for patients, as needed. + Resolves problems related to correct data entry procedures, but may have to refer unusual problems to manager. + Performs other duties as assigned. + Complies with all policies and standards. **Qualifications** + H.S. Diploma or GED preferred + 1-3 years administrative experience related to check in or admission to a healthcare facility preferred + 1-3 years knowledge of and experience with insurance verification and authorization preferred **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + Ability to exercise excellent customer service skills. Effective interpersonal communication, writing and organizational abilities. Ability to function with frequent interruptions. Strong attention to detail and follow up skills.
