Who we are looking for:
Suffolk University is seeking an Admission Counselor to join our team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Admission, this position is part of an admissions unit responsible for the recruitment and admission of undergraduate students. The candidate will help guide prospective students and families through the steps to enrollment; evaluate admission applications, conduct a range of virtual and on/off campus recruitment activities including school visits, college fairs, counselor meetings and applicant interviews. What you’ll accomplish in this role :
+ Represent the u niversity both virtually and in-person at college fairs, secondary schools , and community colleges (as needed).
+ T ravel and recruit approximately 10-12 weeks between the fall and spring semesters. Conduct virtual and on/ off-campus interviews with stud ents and families as requested.
+ Demonstrate understanding of Suffolk University’s mission and our commitment to diversity and inclusion .
+ T hink strategically about your assigned recruitment market and take a creative , data-driven approach to increase enrollment.
+ Holistically and efficiently e valuat e approximately 500-600 first-year applica tions. This includes issuing admission decisions and rankings for honors consideration or special merit scholarship programs.
+ Counsel applicants, their families, school counselors, and advisors on Suffolk University’s admission policies and procedures.
+ Coordinate and implement applica tion generation and yield programs in assigned regions .
+ Assist the Welcome Center in conducting virtual and on-campus information sessions and programming for students and families.
+ Will be assigned additional project and liaison work as needed.

+ Have strong time and project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet strict deadlines.
+ Exhibit excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. You are comfortable not only identifying challenges, but also providing recommendations for improvement.
+ Proficiency with technology including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems (preferably Slate), social media, Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams etc.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team on group projects.
+ A positive and team-focused approach to your work with a willingness to go the extra mile.
What is required:
+ Bachelor’s Degree
+ Must have at least two years of driving experience and have a valid driver’s license from the U.S. or U.S. Territories . M ust submit to an annual driver record check and maintain an acceptable driving record per university and/or insurance carrier requirements; must complete the University driver safety training within 60 days of hire and additional driver training as needed.
+ This position requires the ability and comfort with traveling for recruitment in the fall and spring, often for extensive periods of time. This includes frequent driving in a variety of locations and occasional air travel.
+ Ability and flexibility to work outside regular office hours with some evening and weekend work.
+ This role is not fully remote and requires the ability to be in-office 4 days per week. Additional remote days are evaluated seasonally based on office coverage needs.
