Responsibilities:
This position is under the direction of the Director of Access and PFS. The incumbent will assist in the clarification and development of process improvements and inquiries, train new Admission Clerks, and ensure all person’s training have full knowledge of covered material.
This position is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation and evaluation of classroom lead instruction. Employee will also meet the continuing education needs of all employees. The incumbent will draft, create and upkeep training manuals with the input from Supervisors, Managers and/or Director. This position will require training employees on: insurance verification of eligibility and benefits, navigation of EMR, Claims Clearinghouse/Payer Hubs, insurance websites, emails, and departmental shared folder. Employee will sign off on initial competency evals for every employees after training has completed. Individual will follow established guidelines for use and/or disclosure of PHI, follow and comply with all HIPAA rules, policies and procedures and any other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirement:
3 Year Facility Medical Billing and AR Follow Up Experience or 3-5 years Admission Clerk experience
Advanced knowledge of Medical Billing Requirements for all payers (Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare and other Federal payers)
High School Graduate
Experience:
Advanced knowledge of all insurance payers and payer billing requirements
Knowledge of medical terminology
Type 45 wpm
Ability to read, write and understand verbal and written instructions
Advanced computer skills (Microsoft excel and word)
Excellent organizational skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to complete tasks within given timeframes,
Productive and goal-oriented
Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills to research issues with accounts, holds and claims
