Adolescent Child Psychiatry -- Family Resource Center -- Women & Children's Hospital

Job Summary

 Provide comprehensive mental health services to children and adolescents, helping them navigate emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Physician will provide care to CAMC patients in the field of Outpatient Psychiatry. Compliance with the highest standards of medical art and science will be demonstrated. Care will be delivered in the appropriate setting and coordinated with the staff present at the facility. The physician will take the lead in all patient care issues and will be ultimately responsible for the outcome of the encounter. 

 • With regard to issues of clinical practice, the physician will report to the Medical Director of the CAMC Family Resource Center and for administrative matters, physician shall report to the Vice President of CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital.

 • Physician will provide services on a full-time employment basis and same for on-call. This may take place in the CAMC Family Resource Center on the campus of CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital. Work activity will be comprised of but not limited to the following professional activity: patient evaluation, assessment, management, consultations, office clinic, and providing “on-call” services.

 • Physician will work collaboratively with the FRC staff to provide leadership in the development of FRC programs or services. 

• Physician will work collaboratively with the CAMC Baby First Program.

 • Physician will collaborate with the FRC team of providers with patient referrals and second call coverage.

 • Physician will provide leadership to and clinical supervision of FRC provider staff. 

• The physician will work collaboratively with the FRC Director for day-to-day operations and schedules.

 • Physician will participate in monthly staff huddles to discuss the progress of the program, review data, and plan operational improvements. 

• Responsible for participating in annual assessments of individual providers and the office practice regarding strengths and weaknesses with action plans and goals developed to address opportunities for improvement.

 • Assure on-going professional development and continuing medical education regarding the practice of Outpatient Psychiatric Care. • Continue with the provision of patient care services as a practicing board certified/eligible clinician. 

• Support and implement new technology and quality reporting initiatives, including but not limited to electronic medical records, e-prescribing, PQRS and other initiatives deemed essential in the outpatient arena. 

• Work with management, staff, and providers on creating an environment that promotes high levels of employee satisfaction/engagement and patient satisfaction/experience •Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact) The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically, the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs;

 2 knowledge of growth and development; and  understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients. Education 

• Medical Degree (Required) MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent degree from an accredited program.
